The carnivore diet has become popular in recent years. however the concept of eating a very low carbohydrate diet has been of interest for many years.
Dr J Rollo treated patients with type 2 diabetes with a low carbohydrate diet. In 1797 he put his patients with diabetes on a diet of milk, lime water, bread and butter, blood pudding, meat and rancid fat.
Luckily the carnivore diet has since been updated and is certainly much more plateable and more recently was made popular by Shawn Baker and now consists of meats and other animal products.
The carnivore diet itself has been recommended by a number of experts.
The carnivore diet has become popular and is recognised to have many benefits for those taking part. There is limited research which confirms the long-term health benefits. There is however reliable information available about low carbohydrate diets also known as Keto diets. In fact these diets are now recommended to help people with some medical conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
